Who builds your Reston bathroom

Reston Bathroom Remodel is run by Bathroom Brigade, the bathroom remodeling division of Kenney Construction. Kenney Construction is a locally owned general contractor based next door in Herndon, founded by Frank Kenney in 2019 and licensed, insured and bonded in Virginia (DPOR #2705187519). The company that writes your scope is the company that does the work, including the plumbing and electrical. Nothing is handed off to an outside subcontractor.

Two Reston bathrooms we have already finished

Our Reston work is not hypothetical. The first project was a primary bathroom with a soaking tub set beside a large window that looks out into the trees, plus a glass shower enclosure and a new vanity. The second centered on a frameless glass walk-in shower with marble subway tile and a built-in niche, paired with a vanity that has chrome fixtures, a marble countertop and dark cabinetry. Both are on our Reston projects page.

Bathroom renovation in Reston has its own wrinkles

Reston is a planned community that Robert E. Simon started in 1964, and it shows in the housing. In one afternoon you can drive past modernist townhouse clusters near Lake Anne, contemporary single-family homes on wooded lots, and condominium buildings near the village centers and Reston Town Center. Each comes with different constraints for a bathroom renovation: shared walls and plumbing stacks in a townhouse, building rules and elevator access in a condo, original window placement and clean lines worth respecting in a contemporary house.

Reston is not an incorporated town, so permits for a Reston bathroom remodel come from Fairfax County Land Development Services. The county also draws a line many owners do not expect: its residential alteration permits do not cover condominiums, which the building code treats as commercial. Add Reston Association's design review for exterior changes and your cluster or condo association's own rules, and it pays to sort out the paperwork before demolition, not during it. Our permits page walks through it.

What working with us looks like

  • A visit to your home to see the bathroom, the access route for materials and how the room is used day to day.
  • A written scope that lists what is included before work starts, so you can compare bids line by line.
  • Selections settled before demolition: tile, vanity, countertop, fixtures and glass, with products from brands like Kohler, Moen, American Standard, Daltile and Schluter.
  • One accountable company from tear-out to the final walkthrough.
